I went back to 王家沙 again yesterday... i had to verify my hunch...
2 Months ago my family brought me to this place...
swearing by the family name its the Holy Grail of the
小龙包s
It was April.. Shanghai hasn't really awaken from its Winter phase i suppose.
.. and they tasted wierd...
the 小龙包s had this wierd aftertaste..
bad pig? bad crab? i didn't know.

So after knowin from my Manager that June's batch of 蟹黄 has arrived...
I went back again.
The wierd taste is gone. It tasted natural... and mildly sweet....
i even have this feeling it will continue to taste sweeter from this month onwards.

And so this actually shed some thoughts amongst other things:

That as ignorant as i'd sound.. greatness doesn't necessarily come with every snap of the finger.

Otherwise it will be like going to a yoghurt shop in a temperate place during late spring... asking for tropical fruits.. expecting them to taste well..
and then peculiarly ask everyone
'whats with all the Hype!? Seriously!?.

.
I guess... some people do need some kind of reality check once in awhile...
.
Otherwise you'd be forever trapped in your wonderful bubble..... expecting blueberries to taste good and wholesome during winter while as a matter of fact, Blueberry season happens to be in the month of July.
